MATRIX NEWS - Connect with us on LinkedIn

Join our Matrix page on LinkedIn.  We'd love to have you on board.  We also encourage you to join our Interest Groups on LinkedIn.  These groups define the bulk of where our expertise lies.  Join our groups below and actively participate not only with us but with your peers, other customers, industry colleagues, etc.  We want you to actively use these groups as relevant forums to add/share posts, start/join conversations, share information, learn from other customers, make requests, offer suggestions, etc.

Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) group - Manage entire product lifecycle from start, through engineering design and manufacture, to service and distribution of manufactured product. This group is about integrating  people, data, processes and business systems.  Click to join group

Advanced Engineering Simulation and Analysis services group - Engineering design and analysis using multi-physics simulation.  This group is about solving complex engineering challenges. Click to join group

Engineering Content Management group - Having problems keeping track of document versions?  Can't find the right information?  This group is about getting the right information, to the right people, at the right time through consulting, implementations, support and training!  Click to join group

Infrastructure Management group - This group is abuot sustaining infrastructure by providing architects, engineers, constructors, owner-operators, government, utilities and plants with solutions for engineering design and data management.  Click to join group

EVENTS - Join our Reality Modelling workshop

Create 3D reality meshes! ContextCapture is a comprehensive, scalable and interoperable reality modelling application for producing 3D engineering-ready reality meshes for consumption in any engineering or GIS workflows.

  • Add real-world imagery to infrastructure projects.
  • Capture, process or re-use existing site condition data with 3D imaging and point-cloud processing software.
  • Streamline capture-to-model workflows, eliminate time-consuming translations, and accelerate image and point-cloud data performance to add accurate real-world imagery to your projects.

EVENTS - Matrix attend ACE in USA 2018, staying at forefront of PLM technology

To stay at the forefront of PLM technology, we're sending one of our Principal Consultants, Stuart Hodder, to ACE 2018 in Indianapolis later this month.  Aras PLM hold this event annually as a collaborative way to meet other users, hear what people are doing, see latest solutions and find out what's in store for the future.  Read more.

Aras acquire Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) player to close the Product Lifecycle loop.  The idea is to integrate this solution into Aras Innovator and offer complimentary MRO capabilities to help manufacturers digitally transform the development and maintenance of complex products. Read more

MATRIX NEWS - Check if we're in your region this month

Matrix will be in Christchurch, Wellington, Marlborough/Nelson and Australia this month.  If you haven't already heard from us and would like a visit, please contact us now on email or phone +64 9 623 1223.

NEW TECHNOLOGY - Predict performance of ElectroMagnetic systems/devices

  • Need an electronic device drop tested?
  • Need thermal stress analysis on an electro-mechanical device?
  • Need a cooling system designed?
  • Need electro-structural-acoustic analysis of speakers/headphones?

The ability to predict the performance of Electro Magnetic (EM) systems can lead to significantly lower lead times and reduce the need for expensive, time-consuming physical tests.  Matrix offers a complete Electromagnetic Analysis service using the CST Studio suite of software from Dassault Systèmes, covering the full range of electromagnetic applications:

  • Circuit simulation
  • Magnetostatic devices
  • Radio frequency antennas and filters
  • PCBs and cable harnesses down to motors, sensors and transformers

Some specific application areas of interest to NZ companies include:

  • Analysis of contactless gears and actuators that use permanent magnets to predict input/output forces and torques.
  • Prediction of eddy currents and Joule heating in electro-magnetic devices to prevent overheating.
  • Design and placement of Bluetooth antenna systems.
  • Prediction of specific absorption rates (SAR) for mobile devices.
